Error inequalities for a corrected interpolating polynomial

A corrected interpolating polynomial is derived. Error inequalities of Ostrowski type for the corrected interpolating polynomial are established. Some similar inequalities are also obtained.

A Simple Algorithm for the Construction of Lagrange and Hermite Interpolating Polynomial in Two Variables

A simple algorithm for the construction of the unique Hermite interpolating polynomial (in the special case, the Lagrange interpolating polynomial) is given. The interpolation matches preassigned data of function and consecutive derivatives on a set of points laying on several radial rays. This algorithm is realized in the software package Mathematica.

New error inequalities for the Lagrange interpolating polynomial

Many error inequalities in polynomial interpolation can be found in [1, 7]. These error bounds for interpolating polynomials are usually expressed by means of the norms ‖ · ‖p, 1≤ p ≤∞. Some new error inequalities (for corrected interpolating polynomials) are given in [10, 11]. The last mentioned inequalities are similar to error inequalities obtained in recent years in numerical integration an...

Linearization of Lagrange and Hermite interpolating matrix polynomials

This paper considers interpolating matrix polynomials P (λ) in Lagrange and Hermite bases. A classical approach to investigate the polynomial eigenvalue problem P (λ)x = 0 is linearization, by which the polynomial is converted into a larger matrix pencil with the same eigenvalues. Since the current linearizations of degree n Lagrange polynomials consist of matrix pencils with n + 2 blocks, they...

Polynomial Surfaces Interpolating Arbitrary Triangulations

Triangular Bézier patches are an important tool for defining smooth surfaces over arbitrary triangular meshes. The previously introduced 4-split method interpolates the vertices of a 2-manifold triangle mesh by a set of tangent plane continuous triangular Bézier patches of degree five. The resulting surface has an explicit closed form representation and is defined locally. In this paper, we int...
